South Middle School
"Home of the Rebels!"
Enrollment:  701

Principal, Larry Stevens
Assistant Principal, Jeanne Deming

The goal of South Middle School is to provide a program of academic excellence for every child. Each child is unique and special; at the same time all middle school children have certain characteristics in common. Excellence is achieved in our school because facilities, curriculum, programs, and relationships are built upon the common needs of our children. They are at the heart of every decision, every program, and every day.

August 3, 2015

Dear Parents:

The school district does not provide any type of health or accident insurance for injuries incurred by your child at school.  As a service to students and their families, our school is making available a student accident insurance plan for your child at a very nominal cost.  The district offers this program because of trends in rising family health and dental insurance costs, increased deductible, co-payments, or lack of health or dental insurance coverage.

REASONS TO PURCHASE THIS COVERAGE:

1.        Deductible and co-pays in your health plan.  Many health plans have increased the amount of out-of-pocket expenses.

2.        No insurance.

This plan will provide benefits for medical expenses incurred because of an accident.  If you have other insurance, benefits can be applied to your deductible or co-pays.  If you have no other insurance this will become your primary accident plan.

PURCHASE COVERAGE (with Visa or MasterCard) at www.1stAgency.com and then follow directions at ‘Find Your School.”

     OR

PRINT BROCHURE PDF FROM SCHOOL DISTRICT PAGE at www.1stAgency.com and pay with check or money order.

All questions regarding this coverage should be directed to First Agency, Inc. at (269) 381-6630, or toll free at (800) 243-6298.

Thank you.

Polar PlungeUse SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
The Polar Plunge is coming up on March 5th. The Polar Plunge is a fundraiser for Special Olympics. As a school, South is raising money for this event. At this event, people jump into a dumpster full of ice cold water. If we raise $7,000, Officer Davis will jump into the water wearing only a t-shirt and shorts. The winning 5th hour will get pizza and pop. If South middle school raises the most amount of money, out of all the teams participating in the Polar Plunge, South will receive a 100 person pass to Watiki. If the winning 5th hour class raises at least $1,000, they will be invited to the Watiki party.
