Principal’s Points

Dear Corral Drive Families,

We have another very busy schedule for the upcoming month of February. We have 5th grade orientation with Southwest Middle School personnel, Jump Rope for Heart, field trips. Rapid City Rush players will be coming to read to our K-3 students on Feb. 5th. Then grades 2,3 & 4 will go to a Rush game on Feb. 7th.

As we go into the month of February, we will continue to see frigid temperatures. Please help to ensure your children come to school dressed for the weather. We will continue to use the “Red Flag” system before school if the temperature is too cold. A reminder, if the temperature is 0 or above (air temp. or wind chill), students will go outside.

With thawing and freezing of snow and ice on the playground, we do have problem areas that are very icy. Bob and I are doing our best to control the ice the best we can but it is still very slick. Students are reminded that they are to stay off the ice due to safety reasons. I would appreciate it if you would enforce this expectation with your children. Along the same line, please encourage your children to keep snow and ice on the ground. In doing this, we can help keep Corral Drive safe.

Thank you for supporting your child in their academic progress. We are looking to have a great rest of the school year. Please free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have.

Sincerely,

Kyle Yamada
