The Rapid City Area Schools’ Starfish Award is presented to an individual or group of individuals who have made a significant contribution to a school or the district through academic achievement, community involvement, or service.

The group or person nominated must demonstrate one or more of the following:

· Demonstrate academic excellence.

· Demonstrate a willingness to serve students and teachers of Rapid City Area Schools.

· Promote quality educational and extra-curricular programs in the Rapid City Area Schools.

· Demonstrate a willingness to perform 'above and beyond the call of duty'.
