It is indeed a pleasure to welcome all our returning students and our new students to the 2010/11 school year! The teachers and staff are excited and looking forward to sharing many academic experiences with our students. As the principal of Southwest; it has been an honor and a privilege to welcome each of you to our “school”

This school year will present opportunities for growth and moments of challenge. But, regardless of the challenges, we remain committed to individual student growth and making the best use of our available resources to strive for student success.

I look forward to greeting you and thanking you for the opportunity to work with the greatest kids (and families) in the Rapid City School District!  My hope is that you and your child will find me as approachable and easy to speak to and that you won't hesitate to contact me if you ever have questions, concerns, or you just want to share good news about our school or your child.

More than ever, we need the encouragement and support from our Southwest Middle School community.  Join PTA! Volunteer in a classroom.  Go on a field-trip.  Attend parent conferences.  Come to all school functions.  Help your child and review their homework each night.  Support your child's teacher.

Together, we can not only survive... we can thrive!
