All students planning on participating in athletics
during the 2010-11 school year will need to have a current
physical examination dated on or after June 1, 2010.

As per school board action, students will now need
an ANNUAL PHYSICAL dated on June 1st or later
to be eligible to compete in athletics for the next school year.

Annual Rushmore Bowl Ticket Blitz is set for WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1st 6:00-8:00pm in Gym Lobby.
Students who participate in the Blitz will receive a free ticket
to the game along with Pizza the night of the Blitz. 

All Clubs and Organizations are encouraged and expected to be present.
Advance Tickets are $5 for Adults & $3 for Students.
Tickets at the gate are $7 for Adults & $3 for Students.

There will be sign up sheets in the Activities Office for Groups/Clubs
to sign up to sell raffle tickets during the Stevens game of the Rushmore Bowl.

**Cobbler Football Loses Defensive Battle
The Rapid City Central Cobbler Football Team lost a hard fought 0-9 game against Yankton last Saturday night. They will look to rebound this Friday night against Sturgis in the Annual Rushmore Bowl 8pm Game. For more on this game please read the linked articles from the Rapid City Journal
**Cobbler Girls Volleyball Finish with Weekend Split
The Rapid City Central Cobbler Girls lost a hard fought 5 set match against Watertown last Friday night. They rebounded well on Saturday to earn a 3 set sweep of Brookings. For more on these contests please read the linked articles from the Rapid City Journal.
**Cobbler Girls Tennis Competed in RC Invitational
The Rapid City Central Cobbler Girls competed in the Annual Rapid City Invitational Tennis Tournament this past weekend. The final brackets along with team results are in the following links.

**Cobbler Varsity Boys Golf
The Rapid City Central Cobbler Boys golf team competed with 14 other teams in Pierre this past Tuesday, August 24th. Attached link contains each team's scores along with their placing for the day.
**Cobbler Junior Varsity Boys Golf
The Rapid City Central Cobbler Boys JV golf team finished 1st on Thursday @ the Douglas Invitational with 3 individuals finishing in the top 10. They also competed with 6 other teams at Meadowbrook Golf Course this past Monday, August 23rd. Attached links contain each team's participants along with their scores for each day.
**Rapid City Central High School Activities.
Fall practices have all started during the month of August. All students in grades 9-12 who plan on participating in any SDHSAA sponsored or club sponsored activities during the 2010-11 school year must have a current physical on file in the activities office prior to participating in the first practice. Physicals are now required on an Annual basis. If you have any questions regarding the current status of your physical, please contact the CHS Activities Office at 394-4041.

COBBLER - FALL - S.D.H.S.A.A. Sponsored Activities

**Competitive Cheer
Practice will begin on Monday, August 2nd under the direction of Head Coach Trish Mancini. Practice will begin at 6:30am at the Central High School Gym.

**Competitive Dance
Practice will begin on Tuesday, August 3rd from 6:00 am - 7:30 am at the Central High School Gym under the direction of Head Coach Melanie Cruse. 

**JV Cheerleading Clinic & Tryouts
All upcoming Freshman & Sophomore girls, there will be a JV Cheerleading clinic Monday-Wednesday, August 2nd-4th from 9am-12pm under the direction of Head Coach Trish Mancini. Tryouts will be held on Friday August 6th at 9:00am at the Central High School Gym. Please wear shorts, t-shirts, tennis shoes, no jewelry and have your hair pulled back.

**Boys Golf
Tryouts and practice for students in grades 7-12 will begin on Monday, August 9th with tee times beginning at 1:00pm at Meadowbrook Golf Course, under the direction of Head Coach Jeremy Noyes. There will be a meeting for all boys interested in playing golf on Sunday, August 8th at 4:00 pm in the Central High School Commons. All students interested in playing golf this fall should be in attendance at this meeting.

**Girls Tennis
Practice for students in grades 7-12 will begin on Monday, August 9th at the Parkview Tennis Complex under the direction of Head Coach Roger Sargent.

**Cross Country
Practice, under the direction of Head Coach Loren Kambestad, for students in grades 9-12 will begin Monday, August 16th beginning at 6:30 am at the Civic Center Parking Lot
.

**Football
Practice for students in grades 9-12 will begin on Monday, August 16th at the North Middle School Fields under the direction of Head Coach Trent Pikula. Equipment will be issued on Thursday, August 12th beginning with Seniors & Juniors at 6:30 pm and Sophomores & Freshman at 7:15 pm
Practice times for Football will be as follows:
Monday, August 16-20th:  8:00 am - 1:00pm and then 6:00 - 7:00 pm.
Saturday, August 21st:  Cobbler Football Scrimmage & Media Day - 10:00 am at O'Harra Stadium.
Monday, August 23rd:  8:00 am - 12:00 pm and then 6:00 - 7:00 pm.
Tuesday August 24th - Friday, August 27th:  3:30 - 6:00 pm.
Saturday, August 28th: Varsity Game vs Yankton at O'Harra Stadium - 5:00 pm Kickoff
.

**Volleyball
Tryouts for students in grades 9-12 will begin on Monday, August 16th at Naasz Gymnasium on the campus of Central High School under the direction of Head Coach Shelly Wolfe.
Tryouts for girls in grades 10-12 will be from 8:30 - 10:00 am and again at 12:00 - 1:30 pm on Monday, August 16th & Tuesday, August 17th.
Tryouts for ALL FRESHMAN will take place from 10:00 - 11:30 am and again at 1:30 - 3:00 pm also on Monday, August 16th & Tuesday, August 17th.
On Wednesday, August 18th, tryouts will take place for girls in grades 10-12 from 8:30 - 10:00 am and then for ALL 9th GRADERS from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
.

**Marching Band
Practice will begin on Monday, August 16th under the direction of Toby Rath.
Flag Corps practice will begin on Monday, August 16th under the direction of Justin Speck

**Club Girls Softball
Practice/tryouts will take place on Monday & Tuesday, August 16th & 17th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Parkview Softball Complex.

**Club Boys Soccer
Tryouts will begin on Monday, August 9th at 5:30 am and again at 6:00 pm at the Upper Valley Star of the West Fields.

**Club Girls Soccer
Tryouts will begin Monday, August 9th at 8:00 am and again at 6:00 pm at the Upper Valley Star of the West Fields.

Any and all information & results about the Central Cobblers is important to Rapid City Central High School.  Please feel free to send relevant information or news along with any results from various events to lance.pearson@k12.sd.us  and I will do my best to post these.  We would like to report any & all results from the Varsity to Freshman levels.  Parents, coaches or participants can send information &/or results.
