The University of SD would like to invite you to attend the annual Health Happenings and Scrub Camp on Nov. 11th at the USD campus.  Stop in guidance for more information. 10/10

 

Willkomen!  Students from our sister city Apolda, Germany and their teacher will be at RCC until Oct. 19th.  They will be auditing classes at RCC experiencing American high school life.  They will be making cultural presentations for our German classes on Friday, Oct 10 and Wed. Oct 15.  Check in B213 and C204 for a calendar of activities during their stay. 10/10

 

The PSAT test will be given on October 15th at the Civic Center.  This is a preliminary test for SAT and will also qualify you for the National Merit Scholar Program.  Registration is on a first come first serve basis.  Sign up in the Activities Office Sept 29th – Oct 10th; cost is $15.00.  You will not be allowed to sign up unless you have paid.  Scholarship money is available to pay the fee if you qualify.  Check with Cassie in Guidance for details.  If you cannot take the test on Wednesday, you can sign up for the PSAT to be given at Stevens High School on Sat, Oct 18th.  10/10

 

Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated in Rapid City October 15-21.  Red ribbons will be distributed to students and staff on Wednesday, October 15th via Language Arts Classes.  Friday Oct. 17 is wear RED DAY at CHS!

 

Attention all sophomores – Explore your future.  Join other sophomores from South Dakota at an all expense paid HOBY Leadership Seminar next spring.  Meet, question and interact with outstanding leaders in business, education, government and other professions.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Application deadline is November 2nd to Cassie.  10/24

 

Plan to attend Central’s Parent/Student Career Night for college and financial aid planning on Oct 20th from 5:30 to 7:40 at CHS.  Local businesses, colleges and military will provide information on future careers.  Check with your teachers as there may be extra credit if you attend.  Sign up sheets will be available to show proof of attendance. 10/17

 

There will be a World Languages Club Party on Wednesday, October 15th at 3:30, right after school in the Commons.  We will have games, prizes, FOOD, and best of all….you get to meet our Foreign Exchange students that we have this year at Central!  All students taking a world language class this year are invited to attend.  See your World Language teacher for more information. 10/15

 

Sign up in the Attendance Office if you are interested in learning how to do the Salsa!

Lessons will be on Tuesdays from 4:30 -5:30 in the Commons beginning October 29th. The cost is $10.00.

 

Key Club is looking for students interested in volunteering their time to help youth in the community.  This is a great opportunity to gain community service hours for your post high school plans.  Please see Mr. McGowan in the guidance office for information. 10/10

 

Equipment check-in for boys golf will be on Tuesday, October 14 in the CHS gym.  All participants are expected to attend in order to turn in equipment, receive team/individual pictures and discuss our awards banquet.  Thanks, Coach Noyes. 10/14
