Judy Moody Saves the World

By Megan McDonald

Reviewed by Peach, age 9

Judy Moody Saves the world is a very exciting book, especially for people who like to ‘save the world’.  She is a very good person with moods if you ask me. I was surprised on how much stuff they collected just because of her!

If you like science you will like this book. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to help the world. Read this realistic fiction book to see how Judy saves the world.

Once you read this book you will want to read the whole series. Once you pick it up you won’t want to put it down. But look out, Judy Moody’s little brother Stink is writing books too!

Captain Underpants

By Dav Pilkey

Book review by spike

(Age 11)

Hi my name is Andrew and my book review is about all the series of Captain Underpants. The series is so hilarious I fell on the floor laughing. My brother Nathan likes all these books to. It has action, thrills, and 100% laughs. It’s an epic novel by Dav Pilkey.

I will try not to tell you too much. It is about these two boys who hypnotized a guy named Mr. Krupp and the kids said he is Captain Underpants and Mr. Krupp turned into Captain Underpants. The kid’s names are George Beard and Harold Hutchins. Captain Underpants fights all these funny and sick monsters. So if you ever read these series I guarantee you would probably laugh at least twice.

I would recommend all these series to any one who likes funny books, heroes, and action. If you read one of these books and you like it you should read all the series.

Imagine yourself living in Hawaii on your grandfathers ranch. Well that’s how it is for thirteen year old Darby who loves it there. But will her mom like it there. Read this book to find out.

My reaction to this book was immediate. Tons of hopeful memories came flooding back. I know I have definitely been in the same position as Darby before.

I think this book could be related to books of the same category such as Heartland. So if you like horses and your mom, read this realistic fiction book.

Holes

By Louis Sachar

Book review by Diving Diva, age:10

Imagine you were walking home from school and some sneakers fell on your head and they belonged to a famous basketball player. The cops thought you stole them and you went to jail and to Camp Green Lake. Imagine you had to dig holes exactly 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide. The warden is making boys that are bad find stuff all day.  That’s what Stanley has to go through in the story.

I like this book because it is funny and has lots of action I would recommend this book through 4th  and  6th  grade.

Hoot

This book is about a kid named Roy, who moves to Florida. One day, while getting beat up on the school bus, he sees a running boy with no shoes, no socks, and no backpack. All this leads to a hooting realistic fiction mystery.

I like this book because Carl Hiaasen has a grate sense of humor. I think it was cool when Roy befriends Beatrice. A girl who is the volleyball champ.

I recommend this book to people who like realistic fiction and a mystery, or has read Flush or Scat, you will like this book. This is a good book for kids 4th grade and up, because some of the words are tricky.

Who is the running boy? Why is he running? Read this book to find out.

Number the Stars

Imagine living in a place where people are hauled off to jail or worse just because they are Jewish. There are two girls. They are best friends. One, sadly, is Jewish. Their names are Ann Marie and Ellen. Ellen is Jewish, and guess what… Ann Marie’s family hides her and her parents from the soldiers that stand on every street corner.

I was surprised when Ann Marie’s family decided to hide Ellen and her family because if they were caught they would most likely be killed. I felt scared when I found out that Ellen was Jewish.

I would recommend this book to anyone that likes historical fiction and is not afraid of maybe shedding a tear or two. I hope you read and love this book.

Princess Diaries

By Meg Cabot

Reviewed by Sugar

Imagine you are in High School, you’re 14 years old, your best friend is a freak, she has a TV show, and your dad is somewhere else in the world. What I’m talking about is a book called Princess Diaries. It is a good book.

The main character is a girl called Mia. There are other characters but most of them are freaks. Lily is Mia’s best friend. One thing you need to know about Mia’s grandmother is that she smokes.

In this book Mia finds out that she is the princess of Genovia. Her dad is Prince of Genovia. I would be happy if I were a princess. I would help other people and do good things. What is your feeling for being a princess?

Meg Cabot the author, makes other books like All American Girl and The Mediator (1-6). All of Meg Cabot’s books are funny and awesome!

Book Review - The Bad Beginning

The Bad Beginning

By: Lemony Snicket

Picture you are at the beach on a nice day and someone is coming at you with a sad face. What will he tell you? What is the matter? Well I’ll tell you the matter. Violet, Klaus and Sunny’s parents died and left a huge fortune behind. What will they do? Who will they live with? If you want to know, then read The Bad Beginning.

I was shocked when Mr. Poe came out of no where crying.I thought that it was going to be a happy book until I began reading and then reread the title: The Bad Beginning. The author says that he is sorry about writing this horrible, but true story about the Baudelaires but he has to write about something so he can feed his family.

I haven’t read another book like this one. This book is always changing from one page to another. One page is a mystery and another is sad and emotional.

You won’t want to put this book down once you read the first page.

Book Review - Bone

Bone

The genre of this book is fantasy. It’s about three Bones trying to get to Boneville, but it’s almost winter and it comes fast. The Bones also split up so they have to find each other.

The character's names are Smiley Bone, Funny Bone, and Phony Bone. I like how the author imagined the characters. They all have different personalities that are pretty funny. My favorite character personally is Smiley because he’s goofy and a fool.

I recommend this book to fantasy lovers.
