Children who are having extreme difficulty learning to read and write deserve to have educators make every effort possible to ensure their success.  Reading Recovery meets the challenge of such an effort.

Since 1994, the Rapid City Area Schools has demonstrated a sustained commitment to Reading Recovery.  Over the past 5 years RCAS employed an average of 33 teachers who taught 1,518 students during the Reading Recovery portion of their position.
