Changing Your System Passwords   

   

    The State of South Dakota has implemented complex password requirements with expiration dates. This means all passwords will expire after 12 months and must meet the following complexity requirements.

    1. Must not be a previous password
    2. Must be at least eight characters in length
    3. Must not contain your User ID, first or last name   
    4. Must contain characters from three of the following four categories:
    • English uppercase characters (A through Z)
    • English lowercase characters (a through z)
    • Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
    • Non-alphanumeric characters (e.g., !, $, #, %)

 Step 1: Change Skyward Password

  1. Click this link to Change Skyward Password.
  2. Login to Skyward with your user name and password.
  3. Click the Account link in the blue header bar (upper right).
  4. Click on the Change Password button on the right.
  5. Enter your Current Skyward Password and click Submit.
  6. Enter New Password & click Submit.

 

 

 Step 2: Change Your Computer & Email Password

  1. Click this link to Change your Computer & Email Password
  2. Enter your Old Password and New Password.
  3. Click Change Password.
  4. Please Restart your Computer.

    ** If you receive mail on any other devices (Cell Phone 
    or Tablet)be sure to change the password on these as well!!
